Easter Wednesday evening: The Silence The members of the brotherhood of Silence fill the atrium with their paschal candles, hooded vestments, promises, nostalgia, prayers and emotions. Time appears to stop when the crucified figure of Christ appears on the square Calvary of the church. This sculpture first appeared in the street processions in 1902 and in 1925 the confraternity which bears its name was founded: the Desolate Christ, Christ in his death throes on whose lips seem to form his last, dying words. Christ of the three looks, an anonymous carving wrongly attributed to Gaspar Becerra. This, according to the claims of many experts in religious art, is the greatest carving of the Crucifixion in all of Spanish devotional imagery
