Maundy Thursday morning: The Virgin of Hope This procession made its first appearance in 1961 with the foundation of the ladies of Hope, Section of the brotherhood of Jesus of the Stations of the Cross. The Virgin of Hope, whom we saw saying farewell to her son Jesus of Nazareth on the night of the full, white moon of Easter Tuesday, returns to this side of Zamora. After retracing her steps along the path of the arches, she climbs the hill at early morning. She is surrounded by mantillas and rosaries and adorned with fragant, spring flowers.
